About Us

We are The Main St. Mercantile Co., a small but blossoming company specializing in natural healing through lifestyle and herbalism. Our company is co-owned by myself Ashley Mootispaw, and my mother, Lisa Leininger. We are modern day homesteaders and desire to reconnect with our natural resources made available on Earth.

We were inspired to take a deeper dive into herbalism and natural remedies after the hit of Covid-19. I had always seen my mother make up natural remedies and use resources she had at home. I grew up running barefoot through our enormous garden or at least that’s how it felt as a kid. I desired for my children to have a better way to heal.

I started taking classes for herbalism and will forever be a student. My role within our company is marketing and customer relations. Most often when corresponding with our social media or website that’s me you’re talking too!

My mother, Lisa, develops and manufactures all our products in her summer kitchen. While I do help sometimes, she is often worried I will mess up the products, which I find amusing but I’m happy with my role and so is she. She has continued the natural remedies passed down within her family. She has developed many of these recipes derived from her great grandmother, Alice’s handwritten journals. Alice had lived out west with her family during the Homestead Act and as a girl she would ride into Native American camps on her pony, she saw firsthand the use of herbs and how they heal. She kept a journal of all her adventures, and it is such an inspiration for us to have.

After we saw our family heal in ways we had never seen, we knew we had to share this with others. All our customers have made us absolutely love what we do by encouraging us and giving us positive feedback regarding our products.

Why do we do what we do?

So that not only our children can have a better way to heal but yours can too. We also want to avoid side effects of medications as much as possible. We want to get back to our roots and use effective and proven remedies.

The UPS and DOWNS…

It hasn’t always been easy.

We’ve had products we thought were going to be great and weren’t. We’ve had people tell us why use our products when they have morphine at home that’s better than that junk. And if they only knew how powerful our products were; that they allow one of our customers to get out of bed everyday and play with her granddaughter. If they only knew one customer had IBS and diagnosed ulcerative colitis and now, they go an entire day without any issue. If they only knew that one customer had pain for 40 years in her feet and now can sleep a full night without pain. We won’t let it discourage us because the good customers we have fully support our mission!

How we are different?

Once I started my journey of living a more natural lifestyle, I noticed that often products that are labeled or marketed as natural or organic aren’t that good for us. This term is called green washing. I found so many products that were still toxic even if they were considered “natural”. We promise to always put naturally derived products as a priority.

We are Christian based and have values that we stand by.

We will always try to find a product that helps you even if the first or second one you tried didn’t help.

We try our best to keep our products at an affordable rate so that everyone can seek benefits.
